Amazon just released the Fire HD 8 Plus which succeeds the Fire HD 8 and comes with additional features that makes it a better device. Mind you, this tablet, as at the time of writing this post is priced $109, that’s a little over the $100 mark. But make no mistake, it’s worth the additional price.
Fire HD 8 Plus comes with 3GB RAM which alongside a Quad-Core 2.0GHz processor improves performance significantly and is sure to make doing multi-tasking an easy flow. It comes in two models 32GB/64GB, so you can choose the one you prefer according to your computing needs. It also has an SD card with support up to 1TB.
The 8-inch display is vivid and colorful, while it has enhanced speakers, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi for a better connection. This device is compact and slim at 9.7mm, and also lightweight at 355g. You can watch your favorite shows on Amazon prime video and Netflix, music plus 6 months free Kindle access. There’s also Alexa that allows you to do simple tasks simply with your voice.
It has a 2MP/2MP front and rear camera, so you can capture those memorable moments. The battery life has also been improved up to 12hrs, so also is the new USB Type-c charger that reduces charging time to about 4hrs.
I think the Fire HD 8 Plus is the best tablet you can get for $109.
Fire HD 8 2020 was released alongside the 8 Plus, both have about the same specs except for the difference in RAM size. Instead of 3GB RAM, the Fire HD 8 2020 has 2GB RAM.
Unlike the 8 Plus, the HD 8 (2020) is a bit cheaper, priced below $100. It comes with 32GB/64GB storage capacity that allows you to store your favorite files. This is also accompanied by an SD card with support up to 1TB. While the Quad-Core processor alongside the 2.0GHz handles tasks including multitasking.
You get 2MP/2MP front and rear camera, access to Kindle for 6months. You can use Alexa to carry out a slew of tasks such as turn the TV, lights on or off, as well as check the weather, play your favorite track, and more. The battery life is also great, estimated at 12hrs, and charging takes only 4hrs to fully charge, thanks to the new USB Type-C port features.
Dragon Touch K10 Tablet is another fine alternative you should check out. This tablet falls short in terms of features when compared to the two Fire HD 8 tablets mentioned above, but it has a bigger display that allows you to see more. That’s if a wider screen matters so much to you.
The specs are on the average though, it comes with 2GB RAM alongside an MTK 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor that results in a smooth performance for gaming, watching videos, and multitasking. The 16GB storage capacity is quite small, but when added to the SD card that supports up to 128GB will allow you to store more of your favorite files.
The 10 inches IPS powered display looks very colorful, easy on the eyes, and very bright. Connectivity is through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0 while it’s also equipped with HDMI, GPS, FM, and 2MP/2MP front and rear camera and it’s also very slim at 7.9mm.
You can get about 5-7hrs of battery life with this device, while it takes about 5hrs to fully charge. It runs on the Android OS and as such gives you access to many apps on Playstore.
You might want to check out this tablet from Fusion5 which I consider as a basic tablet, but the features are quite awesome and the quality is also good. It could make a perfect gift for your child.
Just like the previous tablet, this one also runs on the Android OS platform which of course gives you more access to your thousands of apps. The specs include 1GB RAM which is quite small, but when combined with the Quad Core A35 Processor puts up a good performance that results in a near hitch-free experience just as claimed by a user “plays most of my games with little to no lag, even larger games like action rpgs, racing, etc” However, this won’t be a great choice if you intend playing high-end games. You also get 32GB storage capacity with an SD card that supports up to 128GB, that’ll allow you to store many of your favorite files.
IPS powers the 10-inches display which is bright and colorful enough for a pleasing watching experience. It also has a 2MP dual camera, as well as HDMI, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth v4.0 which is good for connectivity. As per the battery life, this tablet can go 5hrs continuous playback time from a single charge.
Last on my list is MatrixPad Z1, a tablet for kids that’s well designed and equipped with features that are well tailored for kids. You should check it out, it has what it takes to make a fantastic gift for your little one.
This tablet is compact and lightweight, and can easily be carried around, while the 7 inches LCD display is powered by IPS. It’s vivid enough and easy on the eyes, it also has a built-in feature to make viewing easy on the eyes as well as has 2MP/2MP front and rear cameras, it’s also very lightweight at 363 grams.
It comes with 32GB of storage and SD card that supports 128GB which is good, while the performance is handled by a Quad-Core processor alongside 1GB RAM.
Although this tablet runs on Android OS, once you get started with it, you can log-in to Kidoz app store to help you regulate the content available to your kid. You get access to many educational contents, eBooks, movies as well as a paint tool. You can get up to 7hrs long battery life from a single charge which is quite impressive.
The tablets mentioned above are no doubt some of the best you can find under $100 on the markets. These lots aren’t so richly equipped but can get the job done if you’re looking for a decent device for your daily computing. On the other hand, you can take a look at my recommendations for the best tablets under $200.
